Dear Brentwood Library Supporters,
As many of you know, the Brentwood Library that was
located on the corner of Oak and Third Streets is going to be replaced
with a new, state-of-the-art library slated to open mid-2018. There will
be a kick-off event for the demolition on Thursday, February 23, 2017.
You are cordially invited to a celebration reception that day at the
Brentwood Community Center, 35 Oak Street, at 10 am. The
Brentwood Library Foundation has begun working to help raise additional
funds to make the library a spectacular new hub of Brentwood. Members
of the Foundation will be delighted to talk with you at the event
regarding the future of this important community resource. We encourage
you to invite any and all friends to join us in this momentous event! During
construction the library is temporarily located in a room in the back
of the Brentwood Community Center. It is open Monday, Wednesday,
Thursday, and Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Tuesday from 12:00 pm
to 8:00 pm. They maintain a collection of new books for adults, a
children's collection, DVDs, a small collection of magazines, and books
on CD. There are six full-service computers available to the public and
the library continues to host some programs. Holds for materials can be
placed at www.ccclib.org and you can pick them up at the library. If you have any questions about the library, please call the staff at: (925) 516-5290.
